The Busan Science and Technology Award judging committee selected Pukyong National University Professor Junghwan Oh (Department of Biomedical Engineering) for the '2022 Busan Science and Technology Award' engineering award. A 14.15 billion KRW regional research center links smart gym infrastructure with active senior healthcare.

Pukyong National University's 'smart gym-based active senior healthcare intermediation research center' (head: Prof. Oh Jung-Hwan, Biomedical Engineering) was finally selected for the Regional Leading Research Center (RLRC), a basic research project of the Ministry of Science and ICT in 2022. The center will build smart gym and local advanced hospital-linked infrastructure to promote the health of active seniors, with a total of 14.15 billion won.

Development of an Ultrasonic Test Automation system based on a collaborative robot for smart factory

Collaborative robot-based ultrasonic inspection automation was localized with lab-industry cooperation.

A collaborative robot-based smart factory ultrasonic inspection automation system was developed by IMTFA in cooperation with Prof. Junghwan Oh's laboratory at Pukyong National University. The research was funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT (2020~2021), and the system was successfully localized.

PKNU selected for a 31.8 billion won marine biotechnology project

A large-scale marine biotechnology project connected biomaterials with precision medical devices.

Pukyong National University announced that the 'Marine Convergence Bionics Material Commercialization Technology Development Research Center' led by Professor Junghwan Oh was selected for the marine and fishery biotechnology development project, a national project with a total project cost of 31.8 billion won. Research to develop ultra-precision medical devices for human diagnosis and treatment using functional materials of marine organisms began for the first time in Korea.
